Lovely detached 3-bedroom house with gardens and magnificent views

Stone steps lead up to the private gardens of High Rowleth where you can enjoy magnificent views across Swaledale. On the outskirts of Gunnerside, this roomy house has been lovingly restored, with many traditional features, including a wonderful old-fashioned range and marvellous stone fireplaces. With three charmingly decorated bedrooms, separate dining and sitting rooms and a converted stable with stone flagged floors, High Rowleth has plenty of space to relax in. An ideal place for a comfortable holiday, whether it's walking, cycling or just drinking in the beautiful surrounding scenery.

If required, Low Rowleth can be booked together with High Rowleth to provide accommodation for two extra people.

With lovely hikes around Swaledale, Gunnerside is ideally placed for a walking holiday, whether from the door, or by using the local bus service. With quaint small market towns and villages nearby, such as Hawes, Leyburn and Reeth, you can find local quality produce and soak up the Dales atmosphere. There are many good pubs and tearooms in Swaledale, and a wealth of interesting craft shops, such as Swaledale Woollens in Muker, galleries and an organic open farm, Hazel Brow Farm in Low Row. Gunnerside has a community pub and a cafe, which opens as a bistro on Wed/Sat evenings (booking required). Reeth, 6 miles, has a post office, village shops, garages, organic bakery, pubs and tearooms and local museum, as well as a Friday market. A mobile fish and chip van calls throughout Swaledale on Fridays, arriving at Gunnerside at 7pm. Larger shops can be found at Richmond, Leyburn and Catterick Garrison (24 hr supermarket, which also delivers). Bike hire at Fremington, 7 miles. Orange (only) mobile reception in Gunnerside area (patchy).
