Tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Arkle Town, this lovely barn conversion in Arkengarthdale is comfortably spacious, yet warmly welcoming. With marvellous views of surrounding fields and hills, the house is in the heart of wonderful countryside, yet only three miles from the bustling village of Reeth. With three pretty bedrooms, Arkle Barn is charmingly decorated and ideally placed for walking, exploring the beautiful northern Yorkshire Dales or simply relaxing in front of the roaring fire!

Warm and welcoming 3 bedroom barn conversion with wonderful views

Arkle Town is a tiny collection of cottages (not a town by any stretch of the imagination!) situated about 3 miles up Arkengarthdale from Reeth. The CB Inn and Red Lion Inn can be found a little further up the dale, whilst at Reeth there are local shops, pubs and cafes, an organic bakery, garage, post office and Friday market. Hazel Brow Organic Farm is marvellous fun for children at Low Row. Larger shops are within 20 miles at Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes and Catterick Garrison (24 hour supermarket, which also delivers). A mobile fish and chip van calls at Reeth, and further up Swaledale, on Fridays. Bike hire at Fremington, 4 miles. Recycling facilities at Reeth, Langthwaite, Leyburn and Richmond. No mobile reception in Arkengarthdale, Orange (only) reception in Reeth.
  • Sleeps 5/6 (upstairs single bedroom has a stackable second bed under the single).
  • Open coal fire with back boiler, which heats upstairs radiators. Electric storage heaters downstairs. Immersion heater for hot water.
  • All fuel included.
  • Bedlinen and teatowels provided (sorry, personal towels are not included).
  • TV, video and DVD players, CD/tape/radio player (reception variable).
  • Washer/dryer.
  • Telephone - honesty box.
  • Picnic bench at end of private driveway.
  • Space in lockable coalhouse to store bicycles/hikingboots.
  • Parking on private driveway for up to four cars.
  • Sorry, no smoking or pets.
