Comments from our Guest Book

Nov 09..."Back again for our annual Autumn break at High Smarber (our 10th visit!). Another great holiday with mild, dry weather and lovely walks each day. House warm and cosy and enjoyed the comfy sofa and chairs - thank-you. We'll be back again soon."  Tina, Neil, Rebecca and Charlotte Parsonsen, Bath.

Oct 09..."Another very enjoyable week here at High Smarber - peace and quiet and great walks. No better holiday."   Chris and Margaret English, Leicester.

Oct 09..."Recommended by the Prindle family (August), we have walked locally from the cottage - averaged 10 miles per day in cool and very windy but relatively dry weather.  Cottage warm and quiet. Have thoroughly enjoyed the location and fabulous walks - last in Swaledale 30 years ago, but will be back."  John and Angela Hermitage, West Sussex.

Aug 09..."Absolutely the most perfect holiday. My mother used to own Bents, just across the valley, and it truly feels like coming home, only now with my own children!  The children have loved the freedom to roam alone over the moors and down the river. I don't want to go home. Thank-you."  The Prindl family, Lostwithiel.

Aug 09..."Enjoyed scenery, weather OK.  Rooms are nice. Overall it was a great holiday."  Isobel Turton, age 12 and a half.  "I love all the animals and walks, also the cottage."  Joseph Turton, age 10 and a quarter.  "I had a great time. The cottage great."  Imogen Turton, age 10 and a quarter.  The Turtons, East Sussex.

July 09..."A lovely place to stay at High Smarber, with such delightful scenery. We enjoyed many walks in Swaledale and Arkengarthdale. The walk to Great Shunner Fell was exhilarating. Ales at King's Head in Gunnerside very good. Punch Bowl meal was excellent. Thank-you."   The Caddy family, West Sussex.

June 09..."Great location, views and birds. Nice and quiet. Weather sunny and hot to begin with and then Snow!!! Snow in June, hills white over - you needed to be here to believe it.  Poor chicks!!"  Mr and Mrs Lumber, Tideswell, Derbyshire.
