Wonderful two-bedroomed character cottage

South Steps is a marvellous airy cottage with a traditional character and atmosphere. On a quiet road in Gunnerside, the cottage benefits from a lovely private south-facing patio overlooking the rooftops. It has a homely, comfortable feel to it, evoking memories of its Dales history. Old-fashioned in the best sense of the word, it has quaint features such as beamed and boarded ceilings, and flagged floors and enjoys glorious views towards the hills.

Wonderful two-bedroomed character cottage

Gunnerside is a charming tiny village, with a friendly pub, and a café / bistro, both serving good food (bistro open Wednesday/Saturday evenings, book in advance). Surrounded by spectacular views of hills and pastures, the village is a cluster of old lead-mining cottages and Dales homes. Many wonderful walks right from the door, with local shops, post office and market at Reeth, 6 miles. Wide variety of pubs, tearooms and restaurants within the dale. Larger shops within 20 miles at Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes and Catterick Garrison (24 hour supermarket, which also delivers). Recycling facilities available at Reeth and Muker. Bike hire at Fremington, 7 miles. Orange (only) mobile (patchy) reception around Gunnerside.

Open fire, first bucket of coal provided.
Electric storage heaters downstairs, plug in electric heaters upstairs.
TV, DVD player, radio.
Dining kitchen.
Bedlinen and teatowels provided (sorry, personal towels are not included).
All electric included.
Up to two well-behavd dogs welcome (small/medium). Please note, for the comfort of other guests, dogs are not allowed upstairs on or furniture.
Not suitable for young children (low wall bounding patio).
