Enjoying stunning views over Gunnerside meadows and hills, Manfield is a roomy three-bedroomed cottage set in a very quiet cul-de-sac.Beautifully decorated with tasteful detail, the house is recently refurbished to an excellent standard, with many modern conveniences, whilst retaining all its original dales charm. Walks ramble direct from the door over surrounding hills and ghylls, after which you can relax and soak up the evening sun on the large, private south-facing terrace.Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome.

Admire marvellous views from the windows of this lovely house in Gunnerside, a pretty village where old dales cottages cluster round rolling village greens surrounded by marvellous walking countryside. The friendly pub and and cafe/bistro serve local beers and good food (bistro open Wed/Sat evenings, booking required). Swaledale has a selection of inns, tearooms, craft shops and galleries throughout the dale, and a local organic open farm at nearby Low Row (great fun for children). Reeth, 6 miles downdale from Gunnerside, has a post office, garage, bakery, local shops and Friday market. A mobile fish and chip van travels up Swaledale on Fridays, calling at Gunnerside around 7pm. Larger shops are within 20 miles at Barnard Castle, Leyburn, Hawes, Richmond and Catterick Garrison (where the 24hour supermarket also delivers). Bike hire at Fremington, 7 miles. Local recycling facilities available at Reeth, Muker and Keld. Orange (only) mobile (patchy) reception.

  • Two double rooms (includes single foldaway bed in main double bedroom) and third bedroom with two bunk beds. Please mention when booking if linen for the foldaway bed is required.
  • Oil central heating throughout, with extra immersion heater.
  • Multi-fuel stove in sitting room.
  • All oil, coal and linen included (logs available to purchase in Reeth).
  • Sitting room with multi-fuel stove, TV, dvd player and cd player.
  • Living/dining room with large dining table, open fireplace and small TV.
  • Through to galley kitchen with standard features, hob and oven, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, iron/ironing board and radio (reception variable). Through to central heating boiler.
  • A safety gate for the stairs is available.
  • Parking for up to two cars.
  • Large flagged terrace with garden furniture and coal bunker. Two steps up to terrace, which is surrounded by a low fence.
  • Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome (not upstairs or on furniture, please). Please mention when booking if you are bringing dogs (there is no extra charge).
