A roomy Dales cottage in Thwaite, Greystones is surrounded by truly amazing upper Swaledale scenery, with many walks straight from the door. Full of character, with beamed and boarded ceilings, and stone stairs, the cottage has an open fire (and central heating), dining kitchen and a useful large utility room from the back door for wet clothes and boots! Such a comfortable house for families, the house is also a great base for couples, with a lovely little private lawned garden to the rear. Comfortable bedrooms complete the picture of a cottage with great Dales character, yet with an eye to guest comfort and a Swaledale welcome. The Pennine Way is yards away, with many other walks from the door, including an easy stroll to Muker (through the fields), where there is a pub, a craft shop/gallery and a woollens shop. South Steps Cottage is a traditional, stone built Dales Cottage in Gunnerside, with original features such as stone flagged floors and boarded ceilings. It has been fully modernised and lovingly maintained to create a warm, homely and comfortable experience, enhanced, if desired, by an open fire. The south facing aspect gives a bright and airy ambience with a lovely view of the local hills. The raised flagged patio offers privacy during relaxation. Situated in a quiet street near the village square, it offers easy access to several walks from the cottage door, including the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast Walk. It is only a few minutes away from the beautiful River Swale. The countryside is magnificent and ideal for walkers, dog owners and cyclists, for whom a covered cycle shelter is available.
